One of my vivid memories of McKayla was when I visited the Geisingers at Bliss Farm. McKayla and Amanda were running around in their bathing suits jumping in and out of their pool. When they entered the house Moe told the girls to go into the bathroom and change into their dry clothes. The girls went into the bathroom and came out running with just underwear on. Moe sent them back to the bathroom, but McKayla starred at her mom with a certain daring twinkle in her eyes while Amanda listened quietly and covered her body with her arms. Moments later they starting laughing, running around the house free as birds. Amanda was still covering herself while McKayla hadn't a care in the world. Moe looked at me and said laughing, "See the difference in my two girls." From that day on I knew that McKayla was a free spirited child. Moe and Greg have given their girls the gift of love. The love of inner beauty and inner spirit isn't something that every child receives from a parent. This special love will be with McKayla and Amanda forever. McKayla's spirit is still here...we just need to listen for it and have faith in her spiritual existence.

I really miss you KK. I know that you are with us all of the time now. I LOVE YOU, SO MUCH!

04-28-2007 11:09 PM -- By: Mary,  From:

The most vivid memory I have of McKayla is when we were at the Geisingers farm a few years ago, with my cousin Shannon and my sister, McKayla and Amanda showed us the chicken coop, and McKayla strode right through the coop, while I was hovering at the entrance scared to death. I was so scared, and it was just amazing to me she could do that. I will always remember McKayla as one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever known. She will always be close to me in my heart and in my prayers. Mr. and Mrs. Geisinger and Amanda, you will always be in my prayers. May God be always with you! Love always, Mary Lorraine.

04-28-2007 11:27 AM -- By: Debbie Hinrichs,  From: McKayla's Teacher at AMS

There are some people that you meet in your life will stay with you forever. McKayla, even though she is not here on earth any longer, is one of those people for me.

As her homeroom and 7th grade teacher, I feel so grateful to have known her and to see her beautiful smile in my classroom each day. She was so genuinely interested in learning and had a great twinkle in her eye. She had a wonderful, easy going nature, but underneath was a girl who was very determined.

Before I left for Saudi Arabia, McKayla wrote a postcard to a Saudi student for me to bring and she wrote that she wanted to be a brain surgeon when she grew up. McKayla could have been anything she wanted to be because she was so capable and determined!

I feel a special connection to not only McKayla, but to all of McKayla's family and friends because of the loss we have shared and I want everyone to know that I will always be there to give a hug or to just listen.

My prayers are with all of you. I too still wear my braided bracelet to remember McKayla and know that she will always hold a special place in my heart.

Here it is - almost 6 weeks since the horrible phone call that we got ... and the days haven't been any less painful than that day.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We miss KK and know she is fine and having a wonderful time - but we just miss her so much ...

Love Moe

04-27-2007 2:16 PM -- By: Eileen Demers,  From: Strafford, NH

Maureen, Greg and Amanda I love you all very much. I just would like to say that I am so fortunate to have such a beautiful and caring sister, a brother-in-law whom I always felt like a brother rather than an in-law and Amanda I love you very much. I remember like it was yesterday every halloween outfit and all the fun times you Erin and KK had in the pool. This memorial site gives me such great comfort especially reading all the beautiful things that KK friends had to say about her. We love you and miss you my dear KK. Love Aunty Eye

Greg, Moe and Amanda, I wanted you to know how much our family loves you all. I think about you guys a lot and I miss McKayla a lot. My kids talk about her every day. Though I have very strong faith that the Lord has a plan for each one of us, I have still struggled to understand why this happened. The pain we feel will not ever go away. I thank all of you for lettting us be apart of your family and having the wonderful privelage of getting to know your Beautiful daughters.

I didn't know McKayla or her family, but I heard about your family's loss on the CAF and just wanted to say that I'm praying for McKayla and everyone that knew her. May Christ be with you.

McKayla, How fortunate we were to be in the company of an angel. Although it was for a such a short sweet time we were blessed to have known you. You were a beautiful child and now you are the glorious, glorious angel you have always been.My prayer is that your family will feel your warmth and presence from time to time. I know that you are there, but you are so missed here. Love, Paula

This period of loss, terrible though it is, is but the twinkling of an eye when compared to the eternity of happiness you will all ultimately enjoy with McKayla!

I will always remember McKayla for, along with her sister Amanda, being the light of their parent's lives. The light that is McKayla shall never dim or fade, but live on forever in heaven and in the hearts and minds of her dear family and friends.

I'll always be grateful for McKayla, who along with Amanda, enthusiastically and generously took care of my dogs this last Thanksgiving. It was reassuring to me and my family to entrust our dogs to them. Thank you!

McKayla is a giving and selfless soul. Her parents have so much to be proud of in her (as well as Amanda), much of which is attributtable to the wonderful upbringing she had.

God Bless you, McKayla!

I've read every post at CAF, and will continue to follow the memorial to KK. God loves KK more than we ever could, and you have eternity with her to look forward to. May Jesus Christ keep you in His tender care.

Amelia: I truly believe "Breakaway", she was like a sister to everyone. One thing I feel guilty about is that she asked me if I wanted to room with her and AnLi, and I didn't accept, I was already w/ 3 other people. That was the biggest mistake of my life. ~Isabella

McKayla: I miss you sooooooooooooooooo much you will always be in my heart(and everyone else's)

Dear Geisingers,

I remember when I was in 1st grade with McKayla. I thought that she could be a real friend to me(She turned out to be a real GOOD friend to EVERYONE). I also remember going over to her house to have girl scout meetings. I also remember one time when we went into their barn to see the animals. I got scared of the chickens and she comforted me. I also remember at 6th grade camp when McKayla was in my room and we were all fighting when we we were going to take our showers but McKayla just sat there and said,"I don't care when I take mine, you guys can choose first." I also remember 3 people in our room(including me) got scared at night because we thought there was a ghost in our room. We woke everyone in that room up besides McKayla. It was kind of funny to see her sleep through the screams of Elizabeth Fontaine, Kailegh Kerr, and me.

Then this year(2007)on the way to camp, she let me and AnLi Kelly-Durham listen to her ipod and we were trying to guess the songs. Then McKayla and I tried to guess the songs AnLi played and McKayla got most of them right even though I knew most of the songs.

I am still praying for McKayla, her friends that had to go through with it at the camp, and especially, her family!!!! Thank you sooo much for bringing your daughter to Earth. We miss you so much McKayla!!!!!!!!!!!! Best Wishes to Mrs., Mr., and Amanda Geisinger. I love you and your McKayla so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i knew her as a very energetic girl, the awesome soccer player, and a hardworking student. but alot of us knew her as a friend and a sister we never had.

it's been over a month since the tragedy, and i'm still sadly grieveing over it. this following poem, is something i posted in my blog on Myspace.

"Breakaway" -or- "The Sister we never Had"

When we first met,I never believed that we'd stick together all the way to the end, I grasped your hand, while you grasped mine,You promised me that it'd be alright, that it'd be ok,that's when suddenly, i looked into your eyes, and i felt alright, that's when i believed, you showed me the way, guided me down the right path to follow my hopes and dreams, made me believe to never give up or to never give in,

You opened our eyes, to everything around us, we once were lost, but now we're found, we once were blind, but now we see, it stopped raining and cleared to a bright blue sunny sky,

You gave us wings to soar to our dreams, we returned by giving you the wings to soar through the sky like an eagle, You helped us overcome our obstacles and made us smile, with laughter from every mile,

Never wanted to give up, never wanted to give in, we loved you like a sister, a sister we never had,

God gave us this prayer, we sang it back, God gave us this angel, we sadly had to give it back,

God created this angel, that was everyone's friend, one who stuck with us, until the very end, one thing that we can say, she finally soared through the sky, and she found the time to breakaway.

-written by me 4/19/07

it's been very hard for all of us to cope with the fact. we still can't believe what mr. dodge said to us was true; I know all of you have been worried about McKayla but- he paused- "McKayla Geisinger passed away early this morning."

but there is one thing about McKayla that he doesn't know about; she's not gone, she's going to live forever in our hearts where we'll never forget her and will always love her.

For former MVVS Students: remember that song we sang in 6th grade for grandparents day? "Bridge Over Troubled Water" sung by Simon and Garfunkel.

Remember the verse: "Like a bridge over troubled water, i will lay me down, like a bridge over troubled water, i will ease your mind."

McKayla was our bridge over troubled water, she'd dry our tears, she'd take our part when times got rough, and she eased our minds.

Mr. and Mrs. Geisinger, and Amanda, thank you so much for giving us a wonderful daughter for us to love, cherish and care for. we love you, and we'll miss her dearly too.

I feel like I knew McKayla. I work with her Aunt Coleen. She has always spoken of Mckaylas love for life, academic achivements and many other of her special gifts. Coleen has a special love for all her family and has expressed the pain that you all are going through, know that I am paraying for all of you. Bernadette Ficociello

Dear Geisingers, I wan't to thank you for having me over for lunch and out for a bike ride. It was awesome going to beaver brook with you. I know that everyone keeps telling you, Amanda, that you and Kayla were like twins, but when I was biking with you, I could have sworn you were McKayla. I just wanted to tell you that. I keep remembering the morning when McKayla, Me,you, and your Dad made food colored pancakes, and they kept 'falling' every where! It was so much fun and I appreciate all the awesome times we had with KK, like going to the Mall, and spending about 10 dollars in the gumball machine because there were 3 balls with 20 dollar bills in them, paying with 20's, even though it was agianst company policy, eating at Lui Lui and just plain old spending time with McKayla. I loved her, and she loved everyone in her life. Love, Ally (LL)

Dear Geisingers, Ally just slept over at my house last night and she has sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many memories that were very very fun with McKayla. She told me of the colored pancakes because we had 2 humongous pancakes (we baked them in the oven!!). According to Ally I was sleep talking and kept saying "It's so hot!!!" She thought I was awake, but I just turned over, and saw me in a deep sleep, I think I was talking to McKayla and there was a heater on so that's why I said that. She just popped out of no where and turned on something(the heater) and disappeared. It was strange. Love, Isabella

Isabella and Ally- We miss you McKayla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!! We'll see you another day. Love, Izzy and LL
